Bank and Office Interiors Reduces Costs, Increases Performance with Qwest's Integrated Voice and Data Solution

SEATTLE, Nov. 6, 2008 – Bank and Office Interiors (B&OI), the largest full-service office furnishings dealership in the Pacific Northwest, recently upgraded its business network to an integrated voice and data solution from Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q).

“We needed to connect five locations in the Puget Sound region to each other, to our customers and to our vendors in a way that was easier to manage, would lower our operating cost over our legacy network and would help us deliver better service,” said Dana DeVol, Information Technology director for Bank and Office Interiors. “Qwest offered us the full wide-area network package that will scale with our growth.”

The customized, all-in-one solution from Qwest gives B&OI end-to-end connectivity among multiple locations from a single provider through a scalable, high-speed platform. Qwest’s exclusive 3-year agreement with B&OI will connect five of the company’s sites in Washington state, including its headquarters and sales offices, and will use Qwest’s wide-area networking solutions based on Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology. Qwest will also provide private and Internet port technology, CPE solutions and long distance.

“Our goal is to be the first and only choice when a business is ready to take voice and data communications to the next level, and Qwest’s wide-area networking services are perfect for businesses that need flexibility, scalability and manageability,” said Teresa Taylor, executive vice president, Qwest Business Markets Group. “When an industry leader like B&OI chooses Qwest, it’s a strong vote of confidence that our world-class solutions help businesses succeed.”

The Qwest-designed, integrated platform delivers speeds ranging from 1.5 to 4.5 megabits per second – for B&OI’s Seattle headquarters and the company’s Tacoma and Spokane sales offices – all while protecting critical business traffic and providing exceptional reliability. The service will allow B&OI to spend less on long-distance services and network maintenance, and experience faster and more secure credit card transactions, improved pricing and sales-information distribution and enhanced inventory management.
