CenturyLink’s unifying principles guide corporate social responsibility programs

Our annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report outlines how CenturyLink is actively making choices to lessen our impact on the environment, while offering our customers solutions that enable them to do the same. As our company continues to evolve and adapt in the midst of rapid technological change, we continue to be guided in our efforts by our core values – our Unifying Principles.

CenturyLink’s Unifying Principles – Fairness, Honesty and Integrity, Commitment to Excellence, Positive Attitude, Respect, Faith and Perseverance – guide our interactions with our customers, communities and one another. We put these principles into action through efforts ranging from environmental stewardship to community investment.

To help the environment, we’ve implemented initiatives to reduce energy consumption as well as our carbon footprint. Our fleet includes flex-fuel and propane-fueled vehicles, which produce significantly less greenhouse gas emissions than traditional vehicles. The CenturyLink fleet team routinely evaluates greenhouse-gas-friendly alternatives for possible addition to the fleet. In addition, we are an active member of the QuEST Forum, a global association of companies dedicated to impacting the quality and sustainability of products and services in the ICT industry.

We help our customers “go green,” too, as our products and services use environmentally-friendly architectures such as IP and Ethernet to reduce environmental impact and better manage natural resources.

We believe in doing our part to help our environment, and we also support helping improve the communities in which we live and work. Our employees are community-focused, helping others on an ongoing basis. They volunteer in their communities, contribute to our annual employee giving campaign and step in to assist when natural disasters occur.

I am proud of the numerous ways in which CenturyLink is giving back to our communities and customers through our corporate social responsibility program. I hope you enjoy exploring this year’s report.
