NEW YORK CITY -- (Securities Industries Association (SIA) Technology Management Conference) – June 17, 2003 – SAVVIS Communications (NASDAQ: SVVS), a leading global managed IP and managed hosting services provider, today announced a comprehensive services agreement with Tradestream Global, a leading provider of advanced trading and back office software for the financial markets.
Under terms of the agreement, Tradestream Global will deploy SAVVIS Intelligent Financial Application ServicesSM (IFAS) (announced separately today) over SAVVIS’ global private VPN (virtual private network) that will serve as the managed infrastructure platform for delivering Tradestream’s applications. In addition, the SAVVIS IP VPN will connect Tradestream’s offices in Dallas, Bermuda, Munich, Tokyo and Vancouver, and support a broad range of applications, including secure data transfers, file sharing, corporate intranet and private exchange.
Tradestream Global solutions empowers its users to trade stocks, options, and futures, around the clock, around the globe, in multiple markets, in multiple currencies and in multiple languages. The Tradestream product suite offers powerful analytics, sophisticated position and risk management tools, advanced order routing, and client monitoring systems. The Tradestream interface also supports international markets (North American, European and Asian), manages connectivity to multiple liquidity pools, and performs currency conversions on the fly. The system operates in real time with no ‘down time,’ allowing traders to use the same account, and get real time information as one market closes and another opens.
“Tradestream Global chose SAVVIS because of its long history of delivering secure, reliable, and high performance network and hosting solutions to the global financial markets,” said David Schincariol, Tradestream Global founder and board member. “SAVVIS’ Intelligent Financial Application Services, combined with the global private VPN, provides us the data, network, and support we need to deliver Tradestream applications to buyside and sellside clients.”
As part of its IFAS Financial Transaction Service (FTS), SAVVIS will deploy a FIX (Financial Information eXchange) messaging network to provide Tradestream Global customers with a single gateway for electronic order routing connectivity to leading broker-dealers, asset management firms, exchanges and ECNs (Electronic Communication Networks). The FTS solution is designed to meet the unique requirements of trading applications – low bandwidth combined with high availability, performance, and security. SAVVIS supports all the major trading protocols including FIX, FIXML, FpML, IP-CMS, and ISO 15022. As part of its IFAS Liquidity Pool Connectivity Service (LPCS), SAVVIS will provide Tradestream Global with secure, high-availability network access to the top Exchanges, ECNs, and Alternative Trading Systems (ATS) including: Island ECN, Knight Securities, and ABN Amro.
“The combination of Tradestream Global’s flagship product, Tradestream Pro, and SAVVIS’ network and application services, we are enabled to offer our clients a private label Direct Access trading solution that has connectivity to all major liquidity pools,” said Tom Cesare, head of trading operations, Swiss American Securities Inc., a member of the Credit Suisse Group. “The advanced order routing functionality of Tradestream Pro allows our clients to seek out the best execution on every order they enter while SAVVIS’ global IP infrastructure provides guaranteed world-class performance, security, and reliability.”
“Tradestream Global’s application empowers the buyside and sellside to trade multiple financial instruments across continents, languages, trading venues, and currencies,” said Jack Finlayson, president and chief operating officer of SAVVIS. “These applications, integrated with SAVVIS’ global network, Intelligent Financial Application Services, and end-to-end support offer a strong value proposition to participants in the global electronic financial markets.”
