Denver, March 8, 2007 - Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced it has signed an agreement worth approximately $15 million for five years with the state of Nebraska to provide IP connectivity to thousands of students throughout northwest Nebraska. The agreement gives rural Nebraskan students access to advanced educational services such as distance-learning capabilities and online classrooms.

Qwest will connect 80 sites using metro optical Ethernet technology to provide data connectivity to some of the most rural areas in Nebraska. With Qwest services, thousands of students will be able to enjoy digital education via a reliable, super fast and cost-effective solution that may otherwise be unavailable to them.
