DENVER -- Qwest Communications International Inc. (Nasdaq: QWST) today unveiled its new corporate identity and national branding and print advertising campaigns at the dedication of the Qwest Tower office building in downtown Denver.

"The launch of our new corporate identity, delivery of a national branding campaign and dedication of the Qwest Tower reinforces Qwest's market position as the driver and enabler of breakthrough communications now and in the 21st century," said Joseph P. Nacchio, president and CEO of Qwest. "Through our clearly crafted brand messages, we will introduce to businesses and consumers the Qwest mission of bringing them the very latest, most affordable and innovative communications services available anywhere."

The new Qwest corporate identity and branding campaign communicate in a single phrase the benefits of Qwest's unprecedented network technology designed to erase communications constraints of time and distance: "ride the light." Inspired by Albert Einstein's teachings about the Theory of Relativity, "ride the light" is Qwest's clarion call to individuals and businesses to begin enjoying the benefits of 21st century digital communications. The branding campaign is designed to make Qwest synonymous with simple, yet powerful attributes of light, such as speed, clarity, simplicity, illumination, and enlightenment.

To deliver its branding messages, Qwest is rolling out a national print advertising campaign to communicate the power and possibilities of the Qwest vision and network. The campaign reinforces the speed at which even very large transmissions occur on the Qwest Macro CapacitySM Fiber Network.

The Qwest network is poised to reliably deliver high-speed broadband services and the framework necessary to empower businesses with the next generation of multimedia business communications. The Qwest network is the first network designed with enough capacity to send multimedia content ? data, images and video ? as seamlessly as voice.

The unveiling of Qwest's branding and advertising campaign took place at a dedication ceremony at Qwest's new worldwide headquarters -- the Qwest Tower located at 555 Seventeenth Street in downtown Denver. Formerly known as the Anaconda Tower and originally built in 1978, the Qwest Tower now displays the new Qwest logo.
