Denver, October 2, 2006 - Qwest Communications International, Inc. today announced it will provide Rohnert Park, Calif.-based CrossCheck, Inc., one of the nation's largest privately held check approval and guarantee service companies, with Qwest Web Hosting services to support the company's check authorizations via the Internet.

CrossCheck will use Qwest Web Hosting services at the Qwest state-of-the-art CyberCenter facility in Chicago, giving CrossCheck a more secure and disaster-resilient environment for the organization's crucial information. Qwest services will provide a robust and secure environment for CrossCheck's computing infrastructure as well as offer CrossCheck customers with increased data connection speeds to authorize checks, and enhanced security and network reliability.

"As part of our overall business strategy, CrossCheck continues to make significant investments in security and infrastructure which has resulted in one of the most technologically advanced, redundant sites in the industry," said J.J. Kieley, vice president of information services at CrossCheck. "The new system ensures 24-hour, uninterrupted check authorizations for the entire network of CrossCheck merchant businesses nationwide and offers advantages over our previous system."

"Analysts have said more and more companies are realizing the importance of protecting business continuity in the instance of an emergency," said Tom Richards, executive vice president, Qwest business markets group. "Qwest is committed to making it easier for customers to create disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and we are proud to provide expert Qwest Web Hosting services to enterprise customers nationwide."

Qwest's ten CyberCenters are located in Burbank, Calif.; Chicago; Columbus, Ohio; Denver; Minneapolis, Minn.; Newark, N.J.; Sacramento, Calif.; Sterling, Va.; Sunnyvale, Calif; and Tampa, Fla. The CyberCenters have some of the most advanced procedures for monitoring, diagnosing and resolving network, operating system, and application problems before they start. Voted "Hosting Center of the Year" in a past InfoWorld reader's choice survey, Qwest was also ranked number one for providing application services in a recent America's Network end-user survey.
