SALT LAKE CITY, June 7, 2007 – Qwest Communications today announced a partnership to support the Salt Lake Bees and the Salt Lake community. Every time a Bees player hits a home run this season, Qwest will donate $50 dollars to Guadalupe Schools.

“It’s Spring, and a great time to get outdoors and root for the Bees,” said Jerry Fenn, Qwest president in Utah. “Qwest plans on rounding the bases for Guadalupe Schools each time the Bees crack a home run.”
“Guadalupe Schools is thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Qwest,” said Vicki Mori, Guadalupe Schools executive Director. “We could not provide the services we offer or achieve such success without community partnerships. Qwest is knocking a home run for the students of Guadalupe Schools!”
“This is a great program to kick off our season,” said Marc Amicone, Salt Lake Bees vice president and general manager. “In baseball, hitting a home run means you automatically score. And now, it’ll also mean we’re scoring for Guadalupe Schools.”
The Guadalupe Schools provide children who are socially, economically and educationally disadvantaged a continuum of educational services from birth through grade three.
Programs include in-home services for parents and children to provide the skills and education needed to live productive, rewarding lives.
The Bees regular season runs through Sept. 3.
