DENVER -- Qwest (Nasdaq: QWST) today announced that Barbara J. Brannen has been appointed vice president of Human Resources. Most recently, Brannen was vice president of Human Resources for Innovative Services of America. In her new post, Brannen will be responsible for human resources, employee relations, recruiting, training, compensation and support programs for Qwest, a rapidly growing company that is developing a broadband network capable of delivering a new generation of multimedia communications applications.

Brannen has more than 25 years experience in the human resources field. As vice president of Human Resources at Innovative Services of America, Brannen was instrumental in growing the company to 1,000 employees from 250 in one year. Additionally, Brannen was vice president of Human Resources for Rose Medical Center, director of Personnel Services for the University of Denver, and has held various human resources roles with Thera-Care of Brookline, Mass., and Medox of Boston.
