DENVER, Sept. 17, 2007 - Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced the appointment of Rahn K. Porter as senior vice president of investor relations, effective today. In his new role, Porter will be responsible for developing, managing and executing Qwest's investor relations program. Porter has more than 30 years of industry experience and most recently served as Qwest's vice president of finance-treasury. In that role, he managed strategic relationships with financial institutions and credit rating agencies and played a key role in the transformation of the company's capital structure.

"We are very pleased to announce Rahn's appointment to this key leadership position," Richardson said. "His extensive understanding of Qwest's financial and operational position will serve us well as we continue to enhance existing, and develop new, relationships with our shareholders and the investment community."

Porter began his career with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1974. From 1989-2000, he held a number of key financial positions with U S WEST, Inc. and MediaOne Group, Inc.
