Denver, CO, March 20, 2008 — Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced its Mass Markets group has received the Gallup Great Workplace Award, which will be presented during the Gallup Summit on May 14, 2008, in Omaha, Neb.

The Gallup Great Workplace Award recognizes the best-performing workforces in the world based on the most rigorous workplace research ever conducted. To select the winners, a panel of workplace experts evaluates applicants based on data from millions of work teams in more than 100 countries. Qwest is among the winners because it is one of the most productive and engaged workforces in the world, according to Gallup.

“I am proud of the dedication and effort shown by every individual throughout Mass Markets to make this a great place to work, and to make employee engagement a driving force in how we operate and achieve our goals and objectives,” said Paula Kruger executive vice president of Qwest’s Mass Markets group. “We work hard every day at Qwest to create an environment that values people and their contributions, and it is truly an honor to be recognized for that work.”

“The winners of this award have established a new global standard for engaging people,” said Tom Rath, who leads Gallup’s Workplace and Leadership Consulting practice. “When compared to the millions of workgroups we have studied around the world, the awardees have worked tirelessly to create an environment that values people.”

Qwest’s Mass Markets group is the consumer and small-business sales and service organization for Qwest. With 8,000 people, the Mass Markets group generated 45 percent of Qwest’s revenue in 2007.

At the Gallup Summit, May 13-15, 2008, the Great Workplace Award winners will present the best practices they applied to their workplace, and the improved business results they achieved through building an engaged workforce.
