Sioux Falls, January 3, 2007 - The Qwest Foundation today announced an award of $10,000 to The Banquet's S.O.S. (Supply Our Students) Project in Sioux Falls. The $10,000 award will be used to provide homeless and needy children throughout Sioux Falls with school supplies. The check was presented to Carolyn Downs, executive director of The Banquet. Qwest also presented the organization with a box of children's books.

"The Banquet's S.O.S. Program is crucial to the homeless and needy children in Sioux Falls," said Larry Toll, Qwest state president for South Dakota. "This award provides a unique opportunity for Qwest to make a difference in the lives of South Dakota students."

"It is so very important that we supply children with the necessary tools, such as backpacks, notebooks and binders for school, while at the same time easing the minds of their parents," said Downs. "Qwest's help will allow these children to face the new school year with greater enthusiasm and optimism because they will begin with all of their necessary supplies."
