DENVER, Oct. 28, 2008 — Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced that it has received top honors for its operator and information services from both the Paisley National Directory Assistance Performance IndexSM and from market research company The Pelorus Group.
For its efforts in automating its directory-assistance service, Qwest was also recognized as a finalist for the “Best Voice Automation” 118Tracker Award at the 2008 International Information Service Conference held in Las Vegas.
“Qwest is determined to provide every 4-1-1 call with accurate information, convenience and an overall superior experience,” said Clark Conniff, director of operator and information services at Qwest. “It’s an honor to be recognized for the dedication we have to our customers by both the Paisley Index and The Pelorus Group. It is a true reflection of our commitment to excellence.”
Conducted twice yearly, the Paisley National Directory Assistance Performance Index is a leading customer satisfaction survey for directory assistance. In the latest index, Qwest ranked number one in all three of its applicable segments, including:
- the local telecommunications carrier segment for the ninth consecutive time;
- the long-distance segment for directory-assistance services for the second consecutive time; and
- the directory-assistance speech recognition segment for the fourth consecutive time.
Qwest not only ranked first in each of its segments against other major providers, but for the fourth time in a row was also number one for lagniappe (pronounced “lan yap”) calls – the Paisley Index hallmark of a perfectly handled call.
Qwest was also recognized at the recent Pelorus Group Conference in Savannah, Ga., winning the “Excellence in Comprehensive Voice Directory Information Services Platform” award. The Pelorus Group, one of the fastest growing independent market research and consultancy companies in the financial services and telecommunications industries, based their selection on a nominee’s directory-assistance service offering, the availability of the service, the unique business infrastructure, as well as nationally recognized performance benchmarks.
