DENVER, March 23, 2000 ? Qwest Cyber.Solutions LLC, the industry?s largest Application Service Provider (ASP) and BMC Software, the industry leader in delivering application service assurance?, today announced that they have formed a strategic relationship to deliver ASP customers the highest levels of service for their hosted and managed application solutions. The two companies are developing a unique solution that goes beyond the scope of today?s service level agreements (SLAs) to bring every customer the benefits of comprehensive end-to-end monitoring, measurement, prediction capabilities and performance optimization for mission critical business applications.
Additionally, Qwest Cyber.Solutions intends to join BMC Software?s OnSite&153; Certification Program and BMC Software intends to utilize application services from Qwest Cyber.Solutions. The companies are currently identifying which of BMC Software?s applications Qwest Cyber.Solutions will host.
"The implications of our strategic relationship with BMC Software are huge. Together we are pushing the envelope by setting unprecedented new standards for others in the industry to follow," said John Charters, president and CEO of Qwest Cyber.Solutions. "Customers should expect more from their ASP partner than checkbook compensation for insufficient service levels. Today only a handful of the largest enterprises have the financial and technology resources to ensure maximum availability of applications, but now we are making this level of performance available to all our ASP customers."
Together Qwest Cyber.Solutions and BMC Software are developing new custom Knowledge Modules&153; that will result in a best-of-breed Service Assurance&153; solution that provides improved performance, increased productivity, and world class end-to-end service through:
- End-to-end proactive monitoring capabilities that provides predictive management
- Ability to drill down to identify and prevent potential disruptions immediately
- Real-time availability, performance and recovery
- Reduced time-to-market
- A single point of contact
"Qwest Cyber.Solutions, a leader in the ASP marketplace, shares our vision and has the breadth and depth to deliver true Service Assurance on an enterprise-wide level," said Max Watson, BMC Software?s president and CEO. "We are pleased to pioneer this effort with them by creating a solution that will raise the bar for the entire ASP industry and improve Internet-based business solutions."
The new co-developed solution is currently under development and will be integrated into Qwest Cyber.Solutions' applications service provider (ASP) offerings beginning in April.
