PHOENIX, September 25, 2009 — Qwest Communications (NYSE: Q) today announced it was giving $10,000 to help fund the Friendly Houses’ education programs as part of its “Share the Win” program in partnership with FSN Arizona.

Qwest pledged to donate $100, up to $10,000, to the Friendly House in Phoenix for every Arizona Diamondbacks’ win throughout the 2009 season. The Share the Win program began with the first D-backs game of the season and will conclude at the end of the regular season in October.

“Demand for the service of non-profits throughout Arizona is at an all-time high. More and more Arizonans are turning to outstanding organizations, such as the Friendly House,” said Jim Campbell, Qwest president-Arizona. “Missing the 100-win mark won’t change Qwest’s desire to continue contributing to work that has such a positive impact on our community.”

“More than 40,000 families and children rely on the services that we provide at the Friendly House each year,” said Luis Ibarra, CEO of Friendly House. “Given the current economic climate, we truly appreciate the continued commitment of Qwest and FSN.”

Qwest maintains a separate sponsorship agreement with the Arizona Diamondbacks that includes in-game promotions and the Qwest High-Speed Pitch Meter at Chase Field. Qwest is also the title sponsor of FSN Arizona’s “Qwest Diamondbacks Live” post-game show, which is seen after the network’s Arizona Diamondbacks telecasts.
