Denver, November 14, 2006 - Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) is one of two network carriers presenting at the inaugural Gartner Enterprise Networking Summit, designed to guide enterprise businesses in developing and fine-tuning high-impact enterprise networking strategies.
Gartner created the summit to allow executives in IT, network management and data/voice communications to get the latest intelligence on key technology and business issues from Gartner analysts and from real-world case studies presented by some of the industry's top providers. It is being held Nov. 14-16 in Las Vegas.
Representing Qwest's iQ Networking(R) solution for enterprise businesses, Bob Dahlen, from Qwest product & marketing, will be joined by Nic Roberts, vice president of information services for Greenstone Farm Credit Services. Greenstone is a lending cooperative catering to 17,000 agricultural customers in Michigan and northeastern Wisconsin. Joining them is Anthony Wanger, senior managing director of I/O Capital, LLC, which invests in the information technology, critical infrastructure and real estate sectors and builds high-availability data centers for large corporations and e-commerce sites. Roberts and Dahlen will present the challenges Greenstone was facing in managing 37 disparate, disconnected telecom systems, and the performance improvements the company realized by transitioning to an integrated iQ Networking solution provided by Qwest. Wanger will discuss his company's decision to choose Qwest to serve its customers' high-capacity transport needs, including connectivity to customer-provided transports.
"Nothing is more meaningful to future customers than the experience of a current customer," Dahlen said. "Greenstone's and I/O's experience with Qwest will be an informative way to highlight how Qwest solutions have assisted enterprise businesses across the country in solving some of their most complex communications needs."
In addition, experts from Qwest product management, engineering and marketing will be at the event to consult with customers about Qwest's enterprise solutions, including Qwest's flagship MPLS/IP solution, iQ Networking; OneFlex(R) Voice over IP; hosting; managed services; and other data/IP and voice solutions
Enterprise businesses use Qwest's broadband network, with its IP/MPLS infrastructure and more than 138,000 miles of global coverage, to build network strategies that will fit their current and future needs. Qwest's network capacity and advanced capabilities support the applications that are mission-critical to many businesses today, including VoIP, VPN and other hosted services.
