DENVER, October 5, 2005 ? Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced several new additions to its award-winning iQ Networking? wide area network (WAN) solution. The new enhancements are designed specifically to give business customers greater flexibility in WAN management and simplicity in ordering.

Qwest has expanded iQ Networking?s multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) services for global outreach, enabling businesses with international operations or with a traveling workforce to easily access their corporate iQ network from 57 countries. Leveraging interconnection agreements around the world, Qwest?s global reach will give greater efficiency to multi-national companies and their employees.

Also, Qwest has added an additional quality of service (QoS) queue, which gives customers another way to prioritize data traffic. This enhancement gives customers four queues, providing more flexibility and control over their data traffic management. Qwest is also introducing a rental option for customer premises equipment, offering business customers a streamlined ordering and implementation process, potentially lowering costs associated with installing and maintaining the WAN environment.

?By continuing our program to enhance Qwest?s IP services, we are delivering on our promise to serve customers on their terms, and to tailor our solutions to meet an even broader set of customer needs? said Eric Bozich, vice president, national services, for Qwest. ?One of iQ Networking?s key benefits is that it enables our customers to gracefully migrate from their existing communications environments to a state-of-the-art converged communications network platform. Now multi-national companies can realize these benefits, too.?

Qwest launched iQ Networking in early 2004 because customers require an end-to-end WAN service that supports specific business applications. Qwest iQ Networking focuses on solving business problems, reducing total cost and delivering an unparalleled service delivery experience. The key features of Qwest iQ Networking are:

  • Universal access to an MPLS-based private IP network.
  • Private WAN connectivity extended and managed over the Internet.
  • Built-in QoS tuned to customer-specific applications.
  • Proactive network surveillance and management.
  • Best-in-class SLAs.
  • One-call resolve customer care model.
  • Global networking.
