DENVER, August 25, 2010—Acclaimed Major League Baseball catcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Miguel Montero, has been named as a spokesperson for Qwest Communications and its High-Speed Internet suite of products and services.

Under the terms of the agreement, Montero will make a nt-sponsored cultural, retail and community events in Arizona, and represent Qwest in various advertising and social media campaigns.
“Miguel is much more than an all-star baseball player, he's an upstanding, respected member of our community - anyone who has met him would certainly agree,” said Jim Campbell, Arizona State President for Qwest. “We are honored to have him associated with Qwest and have partnered with him because he exemplifies our core values of supporting and investing in our communities."
Originally from Venezuela, Montero made his Major League Baseball debut in 2006 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Last year, he led all major league catchers with an impressive .294 batting average, which included 16 home runs and 59 RBI.
