ST. LOUIS, MO — July 13, 2004 — SAVVIS Communications (NASDAQ: SVVS), a leading global IT utility, today announced an expanded agreement with FutureSource, a leader in the real-time futures, commodities and foreign exchange industry. Under terms of the new agreement, SAVVIS will extend its hosting support and provide networking infrastructure for the FutureSource Workstation and QuoteSource data feed solutions that supply its customers with real-time quotes, charts, studies, news and market commentary.
With global network demands and a wide range of systems, functionality and technology providers, FutureSource aims to consolidate its various legacy platforms and solutions with the launch of its Workstation offering. To achieve this goal, the company required an IT services partner that could tailor hosting and network solutions, while guaranteeing reliable and secure transmission of sensitive, real-time streaming financial data to customers around the world.
“SAVVIS was a natural choice based on their heritage in the financial services industry and their global network and hosting infrastructure that many of our partners, customers and prospects already use,” said Chris Mahlmann, president of FutureSource. “Given their understanding of both large and small financial institutions, SAVVIS worked with us to develop a turn-key, fully managed solution that leverages the expertise and core competencies of each company.”
As part of their acquisition of the assets of Cable & Wireless America earlier this year, SAVVIS has fully integrated a tier-1 Internet backbone, 15 world-class data centers, and a complete range of managed hosting, consulting and infrastructure services into its business. SAVVIS is now one of the world’s largest managed IP infrastructure providers and is focused on delivering a wide range of network, hosting, and application services to enterprises looking for high-performance and affordable IT infrastructure.
“We are pleased that FutureSource continues to put its confidence in SAVVIS,” said Jack Finlayson, president and chief operating officer of SAVVIS. “We are expanding our relationship with FutureSource and growing our businesses by identifying a need in the financial markets and developing a solution specifically to address it.”
FutureSource provides traders, brokers and risk managers with comprehensive futures, options and cash price data, news, and charting analysis tools through a series of networked, stand-alone, and Internet delivery platforms and software applications. FutureSource is based in Lombard, Illinois, with offices in Chicago, New York, Houston, Miami, Los Angeles, London, Sydney and Mexico City, and reseller offices that combine to serve futures and commodities traders worldwide.
SAVVIS Communications (NASDAQ: SVVS) is a global IT Utility that leads the industry in delivering secure, reliable, and scalable hosting, network, and application services.
