Qwest Directory Assistance callers can now find nationwide business listings based on the type of business and location rather than requesting a specific business listing. This new service is available to landline and wireless customers in Qwest's 14-state service region and to Qwest Long Distance customers nationwide.
Qwest utilizes a robust database with about 11,000 searchable categories. Qwest agents can easily access the information callers need and provide them with three business listings from the requested category for the caller's desired location. This expanded service provides customers with a convenient over-the-phone tool to access the types of businesses they are looking for without knowing the specific name of the business.

There is no additional cost to customers for the category search other than the standard Directory Assistance charge. There also is no additional charge for businesses to be included in the database. The business listings are randomly selected in each category from the Qwest database giving all businesses equal opportunities to be chosen by the customer.
