NEW TAZEWELL, TN – As part of its ongoing commitment to its customers in Tennessee, CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) upgraded transport routes in Claiborne County to increase high-speed Internet speeds up to 10 Mbps.
Nearly 500 residential and business customers in the New Tazewell and Tazewell communities of Russell Creek, McVey Road, Stansberry Road, Barker Road, Bacchus, Lone Mountain, Cardwell Ridge, and Cedar Fork areas may be able to get CenturyLinkTM High Speed Internet (HSI) at up to 10 Mbps.
HSI gives customers a private, direct connection to the company’s national network and is designed for consistent broadband speeds. This allows customers to watch movies, stream videos, play online games and send large files without slowing down.
“CenturyLink is focused on improving and expanding broadband availability and increasing connectivity speeds to customers in Tennessee,” said Lottie Ryans, CenturyLink vice president and general manager for Tennessee and Western NC. “We understand how important it is for our customers to have access to fast, affordable Internet service so CenturyLink has made broadband availability a priority.”
CenturyLink HSI subscribers can create up to eight email addresses with significant mailbox storage capacity as well as a calendar and address book. The service also comes with a suite of online backup and 24/7 support services including troubleshooting, virus and spam protection, installation and file storage.
“CenturyLink is here to better connect our customers with family members, friends and businesses through advanced technologies,” said Ryans. “High-speed Internet provides the ability to download movies faster, run a business from home or have a superior connection for online chats with family members away from home.”
CenturyLink HSI prices start at $14.95 per month when bundled with the company’s voice services. Depending on where customers live, a variety of speeds may be available. Customers can order service or check service availability in their area by calling CenturyLink at 423-626-4242 or visit at 507 Main Street to speak with a CenturyLink representative, or by visiting www.centurylink.com.
