MINNEAPOLIS – CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) has named Duane Ring senior vice president of global field operations. Ring was previously CenturyLink’s region president for the Midwest Region, which is comprised of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
In this new role, Ring will be responsible for global data center operations that support CenturyLink cloud, hosting and managed services businesses at more than 55 data centers located in North America, Europe and Asia. In addition, CenturyLink’s regional presidents, national field operations, and real estate and fleet services will now report to Ring.
Ring has more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications and technology industry. While at CenturyLink, Ring has been responsible for integration of acquisitions, the successful launch of Prism® TV service and the deployment and activation of gigabit broadband services in the Midwest markets.
Ring was a member of the Minnesota Governor’s Broadband Task Force from 2013-2015. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and received his MBA from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Ring resides in Minneapolis with his wife, Patti.
