MONROE, La. – On April 5, CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) employees in the Monroe area and around the country kicked off National Volunteer Week, which runs from April 6-12, with a day of community service called “CenturyLink Celebrates Volunteerism.” Employees took part in numerous company-sponsored projects, as well as existing opportunities within their communities.

As we continue to grow in this region, it’s important to us to give back to our communities, and we do that in part by providing our employees with volunteer opportunities,” said Kristy LaCroix, community relations manager for CenturyLink. “These efforts not only help nonprofit organizations in our area, but are a great opportunity for our employees to get involved.”
In addition to supporting volunteerism through a national day of service, the company supports numerous local philanthropic efforts and organizations year round, such as the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana and the United Way.
Established in 1974, National Volunteer Week is an annual celebration honoring individuals who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in their communities.
