CenturyLink Coloring Contest Official Rules


Sponsor.  CenturyLink

Entry Conditions.  The CenturyLink Coloring Contest (“Contest”) is open to minors (per the Fall 2015 school year), Kindergarten through 12th Grade, and who reside in or within 60 miles of Fargo, North Dakota. The official Contest coloring image ("Image") will be available at the CenturyLink store located at West Acres Mall, Fargo, North Dakota ("Store") and online at downtownfargo.com website. Only one entry per person is allowed. Employees, officers, and directors of CenturyLink, its affiliates, or any other entities involved in this Contest and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter or win.  This Contest is void where prohibited or restricted.

Entry Method.  Entrant will retrieve and color the official image either by visiting the Store or downloading/printing from downtownfargo.com.  This Contest is solely based on skill and voted on within applicable age groups/peers (see below).  All Images must be submitted as an official Entry, along with a formal entry form that includes minor's name, parent's name, minor's age, address, phone number and email address, at the Store or at Downtown Community Partnership

Located at 210 Broadway N., Suite 202, Fargo, ND 58102. Entries may also be mailed to Downtown Community Partnership 210 Broadway N., Suite 202, Fargo, ND 58102. Entries that are mailed must be postmarked by June 5.

Entries that are determined to fall into one of the following scenarios will run the risk of being disqualified:

  • By discovery, Entrant did not submit their own work
  • Entry was not the official Image
  • Entry contained inappropriate words or pictures or drawings
  • Duplicate entries by the same Entrant
  • CenturyLink logo is colored or covered in such a way that it can no longer be clearly seen

Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants when they enter the Contest.  Please review CenturyLink’s privacy policy at www.centurylink.com. By participating in the Contest, Entrants agree to all of the terms and conditions of the privacy policies of the Sponsor.  By entering, Entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and that the decisions of the Sponsor are final and binding in all respects.

Promotional Period.  The Contest promotional period (“Promotional Period”) starts June 5, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. Central Time ("CT") and ends on July 3, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. CT.

Prize Selection:  The Contest is open to three age groups: Kindergarten - 5th Grade, 6th Grade - 8th Grades, and 9th Grade - 12th Grade and Entries will be divided accordingly into these age groups for judging.

A committee comprised of CenturyLink representatives and Fargo community members will narrow the submissions down to the top 10 in each age group between the end of the contest (5:00 p.m. CT on July 3rd) and 5:00 p.m. CT on July 8th.

The parents of the top 10 finalists in each age group will notified via email and phone by 5:00 p.m. CT on July 13th.

A committee comprised of CenturyLink representatives and community members will cast their vote for the Winner in each age group no later than July 15th at 3:00 p.m. CT.

The three winners in each age group will be announced at 3 p.m. on July 16 at the CenturyLink Booth at the corner of NP and Broadway as part of the Downtown Street Fair. Admission to the event is free.

Prizes.  The Prize is a prize pack containing one Fargo Street Fair T-Shirt, Fargo Street Fair Vouchers & Coupons, CenturyLink Tote Bag, Jolt Charger, Earbuds, and a $50 Visa Gift Card. Prize pack is valued at $100.  Three Prizes will be awarded to three winners; one winner in each age group listed above.


Prize Restrictions:  Sponsor will have the right to substitute another prize package of equal or greater value, at its sole discretion.  Sponsor may substitute for a cash prize or goods or services with a value equal to or greater than the estimated retail value of the original prize.  All expenses not specified are the sole responsibility of the winner(s). No transfer or cash redemption of prize is permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.  Limit one prize per household or family.  Sponsor not responsible for lost or stolen prize.

Odds: Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received in each age category.

NotificationThe winner in each age category will be announced at 3:00 p.m. CT on July 15th at the CenturyLink Booth located on CenturyLink Block between 1st Avenue and NP Avenue during the Fargo Street Fair.  Winners do not need to be present to win.  Prize will only be awarded to winner whose name is submitted at the time of entry. Winners must accept prize within 7 days of time of notification (or attempted notification) or the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner will be selected who had the next highest score.  In the event that the alternate winner does not respond or accept, another alternate winner will be selected who had the next highest score.  Refusal to agree to and execute Sponsor’s statement of eligibility and release of liability will also result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion and time permitting, cause an alternative winner to be chosen from among all remaining eligible entries.  Sponsor will mail prize to winner, return receipt required (signature of winner required).

TaxationWinners' parents or guardians are solely responsible for any and all federal, state, and local income taxes associated with his or her prize.  Sponsor is not responsible for and will not pay or in any way compensate prize winners for taxes associated with winning a prize in this Contest. The prize winners' parents or guardians may be required to provide certain tax related documents to CenturyLink before receiving a prize. If required by law, CenturyLink will issue Form 1099-MISC to a prize winner reporting the taxable retail value of his or her prize. The prize winner should consult his or her tax advisor about the tax implications of winning a prize.

Waiver of Liability/Publicity ReleaseBy acceptance of prize, the winners' parents or guardians grant to Sponsor the right to publicize such winner’s first name, and/or likeness in any medium now or hereafter devised worldwide without limitation and without additional compensation or consideration, notification or permission, unless prohibited by law.

General Conditions: By entering, participants agree (a) to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and the judging agency, which shall be final in all matters relating to the Contest; (b) to release and hold harmless Sponsor and all affiliated companies and directors, officers and employees from any and all claims, liability or damages arising out of their participation and the acceptance and use of a prize; (c) to permit Sponsor and its agents to use winner’s name, city and/or likeness for advertising, promotional and publicity purposes in all media without additional compensation or any prior review or approval; (d) that under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; and (e) that all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form class action.

Sponsor is not responsible for printing or typographical errors in any Contest-related materials; for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible entries, or for transactions, entries or communications that are processed late or incorrectly or lost due to computer or electronic malfunction or human error.

In the event of a dispute regarding any entry, the entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the phone number or e-mail address submitted at the time of entry.  Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and award Contest prizes from among all eligible entries received prior to cancellation or termination. Sponsor also reserves the right to disqualify any individual who does not comply with these Official Rules.


Governing Law.  Contest will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Louisiana. 

Winners List.  All inquiries concerning the Contest the winners' names may be directed to Rachel Woodman by July 30, 2015.

In accordance with Federal law, contact CenturyLink Customer Service to add your contact information to the CenturyLink Do Not Mail and/or Do Not Call lists if you do not wish to receive any sweepstakes or Contest information (process may take up to two weeks).
