DENVER, Colo. – CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) today officially committed its name to Colorado as the brand launches nationwide in former Qwest markets. CenturyLink completed the Qwest merger on April 1.

Coloradans will see and experience an immediate effect of the change as CenturyLink signs will light up for the first time tonight atop the tower at 1801 California Street and on 930 15th Street. Showing its commitment to the community, the company issued the Colorado 100K Pledge, stating that Colorado employees and retirees pledge to volunteer 100,000 hours in the community over the next 12 months.

“The official arrival of the CenturyLink name is more than a logo. It’s the arrival of how we interact with our communities, as a provider, employer and neighbor,” said Kenny Wyatt, Mountain Region president for CenturyLink. “We are the sixth-largest private-sector employer in Colorado with more than 7,000 employees statewide. Our responsibility to our customers and employees extends into the communities in which we live and work.”

“Our transition to the CenturyLink brand introduces a company who has been serving customers for more than 80 years,” said Scott Russell, CenturyLink’s vice president and general manager for Denver. “Our focus continues to be on investing in a consistently fast network and in our communities, and linking customers to better service and better value.”

In Colorado, the company’s largest market, CenturyLink retail stores will hold grand opening events starting this weekend. Company uniforms bear the new name as do company vehicles. Customers will also begin seeing the transitional brand on their invoice envelopes beginning today, and their bill will reflect the standalone CenturyLink name and logo.
