San Marcos, TX – Shelby Rollings, 2010 graduate of  San Marcos High School and daughter of CenturyLink central office technician Keith Rollings, is a recipient of a $1,000 CenturyLink scholarship.

Forty-two scholarships were granted nationwide. The program confers scholarships to dependents of employees, who have at least a 3.0 grade point average and are attending an accredited junior college, college or university. The 2010 scholarships are $1,000 per year, for up to 4 years. The students can retain the scholarship each year by maintaining a 3.0 grade point average.

“We are thrilled to award these educational scholarships to the sons and daughters of our CenturyLink associates,” said Steve Hanik, Market Development Manager for CenturyLink. “They are most deserving and these funds assist students in obtaining their higher educational goals. Each winner was selected based on their academic achievements, as well as their outstanding community involvement.”

Shelby will be attending Texas State University in the fall where she will pursue a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and a degree in Chemistry.
