DENVER – CenturyLink, Inc. (NYSE: CTL) and the Denver Broncos today announced a sponsorship agreement. The three-year contract, starting with the 2014 regular football season, names CenturyLink as an official partner of the Denver Broncos.
"Becoming an official partner of the Denver Broncos connects CenturyLink with Denver’s largest and most avid fan base," said Scott Russell, CenturyLink’s vice president and general manager for the Denver market. "CenturyLink is helping the Broncos accomplish one of its goals by providing a significant technology enhancement that will positively impact the gameday experience.”
CenturyLink will install a new 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) Internet circuit for the Broncos, with bandwidth up to 10 Gbps, at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver. The new circuit, which will provide the Broncos with more than five times their current bandwidth, will deliver ultra-fast Internet traffic that will enhance fans’ Wi-Fi experience at games or other events in the stadium.
In addition, connectivity between the Broncos’ training camp facility and Sports Authority Field at Mile High will benefit from a new 10 Gbps optical wavelength circuit. This will allow for better data synchronization, faster communication, and enhanced disaster recovery and business continuity.
CenturyLink’s sponsorship with the Denver Broncos will include in-stadium signage, gameday promotions, banner ads on DenverBroncos.com and gameday television and radio spots. Additional features of the partnership include VIP events and hospitality opportunities.
"The Denver Broncos are very excited to partner with CenturyLink," said Denver Broncos President and CEO Joe Ellis. “We look forward to utilizing their technology while allowing them to use the Broncos brand to connect with their many customers and employees, so many of whom are passionate fans."
About the Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos football enters its 55th season in 2014 as the team seeks to return to the pinnacle of success it enjoyed with back-to-back Super Bowl wins in 1997 and ‘98. Playing for the 14th year at their glistening stadium, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, the Broncos will perform before sellout crowds for the 45th consecutive season, the first 31 of which came at Mile High Stadium. The team has sold out 341 consecutive regular-season games and 360 consecutive contests including playoff games. Broncos fans have watched their team amass one of the NFL’s finest records since the club’s first winning season in 1973, enduring just seven losing seasons—tied for the fewest in the NFL. This season also marks Pat Bowlen’s 31st as owner of the Broncos. During that time, Denver has enjoyed a virtually unmatched level of success in the context of the entire NFL and within the American Football Conference Western Division.
