London - 25th July 2006 - Telkom South Africa, Africa’s leading integrated telecommunications company, and SAVVIS, a global leader in IT infrastructure services for business applications, have signed a strategic collaboration agreement to work on business growth opportunities.

Under the terms of the agreement, Telkom South Africa will provide SAVVIS’ utility computing and managed hosting services to its customers, including local businesses and global organisations with operations in South Africa. SAVVIS will help to bring new technologies into the market, reinforcing Telkom South Africa’s position as a business committed to helping grow the African economy. The collaboration is part of a strategic move by Telkom South Africa to continue to deliver increased value to the business community in South Africa and enables Telkom South Africa to provide its customers with leading technologies. This will allow organisations to drive down business and IT infrastructure costs and help African companies compete on a global level.

For SAVVIS, teaming up with Africa’s leading integrated telecommunications company will enable it to expand its global footprint in one of the world’s fastest growing technology markets and to ensure that its customers with operations in Africa have access to the same level and quality of service as those enjoyed by Europe, North America and Asia.

“Telkom South Africa is one of the most forward-thinking companies in Africa and supports business growth opportunities for local, national and international businesses,” said Richard Warley, Managing Director of EMEA for SAVVIS. “The collaboration between SAVVIS and Telkom South Africa highlights our ability to provide cutting-edge services to major communications providers and will enable us to expand our network footprint into this region.”
