Stuff the Truck Volunteers

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank our employees and the many members of the communities where we live and work for supporting our efforts to “Stuff the Truck” with school supplies for students and teachers impacted by the unprecedented natural disaster in south Louisiana.

We greatly appreciate the United Way of Northeast Louisiana for helping us collect items and the students and teachers of Lee Junior High for collecting more than 1,000 items.

Our volunteers have been busy sorting, packing, loading and distributing supplies the last few days to the Livingston Parish and East Baton Rouge Parish School Systems.

As the Baton Rouge region shifts from rescue and recovery efforts to restoration and rebuilding, the long-term impact of this flooding is more and more evident. During times like this, communication is especially vital to individuals and businesses. We are pleased to be able to offer a helping hand to communications company EATEL by providing some technicians to help them with repairs. One quarter of EATEL’s service area was flooded and is without service.

In addition, many of their employees also lost their homes. We are hopeful that the help of these technicians will ease some of the burden on those employees and help restore services to the residents in Livingston and Ascension Parishes soon.
