CenturyLink Backs Cybersecurity Legislation

The U.S. Senate passed the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (S. 754) today.

“CenturyLink devotes significant resources to protecting its network from cyber attacks and helping customers improve their cyber defenses. We support legislation that improves cyber cooperation, facilitates the actionable sharing of critical cyber threat indicators among government and private industry, and extends privacy and liability protections to commercial providers and their customers. We’re also pleased that the legislation includes a provision authorizing vital Department of Homeland Security cybersecurity programs that enhance the government’s ability to defend its IT systems against unauthorized cyber intrusions.”

CenturyLink previously announced its support for the Protecting Cyber Networks Act (H.R. 1560) and the National Cybersecurity Protection Advancement Act (H.R. 1731) that passed the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this year.
