DENVER, June 16, 2008 —Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) today announced that Sami A. Syed has joined the company to fill the newly created position of vice president of Systems Engineering and Program Management within the Qwest IT organization. Based in Denver, Syed will actively collaborate with Qwest’s leadership to define technology issues, develop system solutions and ensure programs are delivered on time to meet customer needs.
Syed brings a wealth of experience to Qwest possessing a strong background in program and system development coupled with broad leadership experience in IT, product and network. With nearly 30 years industry experience at companies including MCI and Alcatel, Syed comes to Qwest from AOL Time Warner where he had responsibility for broadband and Internet products, including the development of leading-edge portal services.
