Qwest Earns Top Honors For Wholesale Customer Service In Leading Industry Research Report
DENVER, March 9, 2007 - Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) was rated number one in four categories, including customer service, by wholesale customers in a recent survey conducted by Atlantic-ACM, a research consultancy serving the telecommunications and information industries. The results, which earned Qwest four Wholesale Carrier Excellence Awards at the Spring CompTel tradeshow in Las Vegas, were reported in Atlantic-ACM's 2007 U.S. Wholesale Long Distance Carrier Report Card.
Wholesale customers who spend larger amounts on telecommunications rated Qwest number one for its sales representatives, its network and its customer service.
Qwest also scored the top ranking from all wholesale customers for the quality of its voice products.
This is the second consecutive award for customer service that Qwest's wholesale markets group has received from its customers and Atlantic-ACM.
"Of all the honors Qwest wholesale has received, the Wholesale Carrier Excellence Awards are the most meaningful because they reflect the opinions and experiences of those who know us best - our customers," said Roland Thornton, executive vice president, Qwest wholesale markets.
The criteria used to determine Qwest's top rank in each of the categories were:
- Sales representatives: professionalism, integrity, technical expertise and proactive/consultative sales approach.
- Network: network quality, performance and diversity, as well as service-level agreements.
- Customer service: operation support, professionalism, expertise and ability to solve problems in a timely manner.
- Quality of voice products: the average of customer quality scores for products, such as 800 termination; ten-digit outbound calling, not including voice over Internet protocol (VoIP); and calls for which the carrier provided VoIP origination or VoIP interconnection.
The awards are based on the results of a nationwide survey, which uses ratings by resale customers to rate the performance of wholesale carriers. The study is a chief benchmarking resource for the industry.
