Perfect Commerce Chooses SAVVIS IT Infrastructure To Support New Software-as-a-Service Business Model

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — January 28, 2008 — SAVVIS, Inc. (NASDAQ:SVVS), a global leader in IT infrastructure services for business and government applications, today announced an agreement to provide fully managed and virtualized IT infrastructure including network, hosting, compute and managed security to Perfect Commerce, the largest provider of on-demand spend management solutions.

Perfect Commerce is migrating to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) delivery model and selected SAVVIS’ IT infrastructure to support it. Perfect Commerce recently merged with CorMine, a specialty procurement outsourcing firm that focuses on engineered materials, capital equipment and maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) materials. It now serves more than 100 Fortune 500 clients, 200,000 users and 11,500 suppliers in a wide variety of industries.

As part of a three year $5 million IT infrastructure services agreement, SAVVIS is providing Perfect Commerce with a turnkey managed IT infrastructure solution. Led by SAVVIS’ Professional Services team, the solution includes data center facilities, servers and storage systems, network backbone, management, and operations. The solution underpins and complements Perfect Commerce’s SaaS business model and is hosted from SAVVIS’ new data center in Atlanta, Ga. with disaster recovery services located in a SAVVIS data center near Washington, D.C.

“Following the merger with CorMine we determined we needed a high performance infrastructure solution with low start up costs and the ability to scale rapidly,” said Del Putnam, Vice President of Technology at Perfect Commerce. “SAVVIS virtualized IT utility services are engineered perfectly to underpin our SaaS platform. In addition, the SAVVIS solution helped us get to market quicker by eliminating significant capital expenditure that would have been required if we had tried to do it by ourselves.”

“Our breadth of services and expertise providing software-as-a-service infrastructure continues to grow and we look forward to working with Perfect Commerce to support their evolving business needs,” said Jonathan Crane, President of SAVVIS. “Our virtualized IT utility services platform is ideal for customers like Perfect Commerce who need lower, more predictable costs, high availability and infrastructure that scales on-demand.”
