EMBARQ Customers Reminded to Upgrade Homepages, E-mail, Security

OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EMBARQ today reminded High Speed Internet customers who haven't yet migrated to the new, enhanced EMBARQ-branded Internet portal to do so by Oct. 31. As part of the transition, email addresses replace addresses.

Benefits of the innovative new MyEMBARQ(TM) portal, launched in April, include unlimited email mailbox storage and award-winning security tools providing advanced virus and anti-spyware protection. The new and homepages offer instant access to email, search, news, sports, weather, financial information, commercial-free radio and more.

A simple three-step process enables customers to upgrade to their free email account and security services. The migration automatically moves customers' stored email, contact lists and folders to their new embarqmail accounts. Customers with email addresses can keep their existing usernames, and they can have their contact list automatically notified of their new embarqmail account. Through Oct. 31, EMBARQ will forward email received at the customer's old EarthLink email address to their new address.

Migration-eligible customers have been informed since April to make the upgrade through direct mailings, email messages, phone calls, and online prompts when logging into their EarthLink webmail or homepage. Additional information is available at
