The retail stores offer an original and customer-friendly layout using interactive displays, accessible merchandise, product demos and electronic media platforms. Additionally, many EMBARQ(TM) retail stores have enhanced the availability of products and services for its business customers by including a business "store-within-a-store." A business sales representative is present at these stores to consult with and customize solutions for business customers. In locations where the services are available, customers can receive demonstrations of Smart Connect(SM), Wireless Data, Connection Central(TM), the Business Resource Center and other business applications. Customers also can learn about the advantages of the Business Rewards program, which allows small business and home office customers to save up to 90 percent on more than 75,000 reward items.

EMBARQ used Kansas City-based Winntech, a retail design and strategy agency, to create and implement the new lifestyle enhancement design. The first store to receive the new design is located in Gardner, Kan. Currently, 14 of the company's 46 stores are operating with the new design. Three more stores are scheduled to open by the end of February 2007. Also, Winntech is redesigning many of the existing EMBARQ(TM) stores across the country.
