Customers Praise Qwest Data Services in Leading Business Magazine

DENVER, Jan. 9, 2007 - Business customers ranked Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) a top data provider in a recent issue of Spokane Business Catalyst magazine. Specifically, small and medium-sized businesses named Qwest the "Best Internet Services Provider." Qwest also won an award in the "Best Web Hosting Business" category. The findings come in the magazine's lead feature, "Best of Business Awards 2006," in the January 2007 issue.

Qwest won the gold award in the "Best Internet Services Provider" category for its business-class Qwest High-Speed InternetTM and Qwest Metro Optical EthernetTM services, which Spokane Business Catalyst describes as delivering "autobahn speeds."

In the "Best Web Hosting Business" category, Qwest won the silver award for its Qwest Office Plus(r) service, which provides some of the richest managed hosting, high-speed Internet and e-mail features available anywhere for small and mid-sized businesses. The magazine says, "With Qwest, you'll never need to tell your customers over the phone, 'Sorry, our Web site is down.'" The magazine goes on to say that the services are "uber-easy" to implement.

"Small and medium-sized businesses require simplicity because they are often resource constrained," said Ken Smith, vice president of mid-markets sales for Qwest. "Qwest's top-notch data, IP and voice services are designed to help businesses get up and running with communications services efficiently and cost-effectively. We bundle services for simplicity and offer unparalleled service and support, including a single point of contact."

The awards were published in the Spokane Business Catalyst's first-ever annual Best of Business resource guide issue and the results were based on the magazine's September 2006 survey of readers in the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene region. The magazine's readership is comprises primarily business owners and managers, and issues are sent to over 20,000 CEOs in Spokane (Wash.) and Kootenai (Idaho) counties.

"From small businesses to Fortune 500, Qwest has the top communications and Internet services they need," continued Smith.
